This is something everyone with a Hero4 should buy. I really dont like the way GoPro wants you to charge the battery in the camera, and having this external charger is awesome. Its a given that you can still use your camera while charging a dead battery or two, but it just seems easier and smarter to charge batteries this way anyways.

The batteries are great, too. I have not actually timed the battery life of the GoPro branded battery and the Smatree Battery, but I think this one lasts a few minutes longer at least. They dont get hot during use or while charging, and they fit just fine. The only difference I can see is the dirrection the little tab faces, but thats not a big deal at all. For the price, you would be crazy to buy anything but this.

I left out one star because one of my batteries had to be replaced after a couple of uses. The charger indicated a full charge, but once intalled, my camera would shut off about 2 seconds after I powered it on. I contacted Smatree, and without any issues, they sent me two new batteries that have worked just fine ever since. I was surprised, and happy, that their customer service was so good, which I think says a lot about the kind of business they run. Good one you guys. I would, and will, buy again!

I PURCHASED THIS CHARGING KIT 1/28/15,GOT IN ABOUT FOUR DAYS CHARGED BATTERIES EVEN MY GOPRO 4 BATTERIES WORKED GREAT AND THE SMARTREE BATTERIES DO LAST LONGER THAN GO PRO. GREAT DEAL,BUT SECOND DAY I WENT TO CHARGE SOME BATTERIES AND THE SOCKET CAME LOOSE FROM BATTERY PACK. EMAILED SMARTREE AND THEY SAID SORRY BUT NO PROBLEM,WE WILL MAKE IT RIGHT. AND HAPPY TO SAY THEY DID, ANOTHER BATTERY CHARGER WITH BATTERIES..I SAY AWESOME..THERE FOR 5 STARS. THANKS SMARTREE. ALBERT

Worth the money but, dont count on the batteries

It is worth the money for the charger. BUT, one of the batteries died after 1 week.
